Torch Awards Trophy Promo

The goal was to create a video for social media that would get people to nominate a local business for a Torch Award before the deadline. I was asked to utilize their trophy.

I shot the trophy statue on a turntable, against a black backdrop.

Here is what the raw video looked like – the trophy turns clockwise at one constant rate of speed…

…and not very interesting to look at the sides and back…

…I masked out the wood-grain base, reversed it to spin counter-clockwise and ramped the speed when it gets to the sides and back…

…then added particles and a flare to make it more elegant and prestigious.
